WolframAlpha

WolframAlpha, (www.wolframalpha.com) a new search-and-find engine, was just launched recently. WA uses complex algorithms to translate what you type in the search box into code which is translated into an output.

After experimenting a bit with it, I noticed a few flaws. The first was that WolframAlpha doesn’t search within a search. (e.g., type in President of the U.S., you get Obama. Type in age of obama, you get his age. Type in age of president of the U.S., and WA wigs out and doesn’t understand.) The next flaw is translations. You simply can’t type in “hello in french.” The last flaw is that this is not a replacement for google or wikipedia: WA does not give information on a general topic, but more an answer for a question.
